Williamsburg Man Named to Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation Board

A Smithfield Foods executive is now a member of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced last week the appointment of Timothy P. Dykstra, of Williamsburg, to the board for a term through June 2019.

JYF is the state agency in charge of the operations and educational outreach programs of Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Victory Center.

Dykstra, who has a master of business administration degree from Wayne State University, is currently the vice president and corporate treasurer of Smithfield Foods Inc.

Before taking the Smithfield position in 2010, Dykstra served in executive roles for Chrysler for about 25 years.

Dykstra is also the chairman of An Achievable Dream’s endowment board and a member of the Michigan State University Financial Advisory Board.

Along with Dykstra’s apopintment, McAuliffe reappointed John T. Casteen III, of Keswick, and Professor Ervin L. Jordan Jr., of Charlottesville, to the board. Their new terms also run through June 2019.
