Kids looking for some spooky, silly fun can head over to Jamestown Settlement on Friday and Saturday for “Family Frights,” a not-too-scary trick-or-treat party for elementary school-aged children.
At 6:30 p.m. both nights, creepy lighting and sound effects will take over the living history areas of Jamestown Settlement.
Families can check out the re-created 1600s fort for trick-or-treating and haunted houses, or head down to the pier to brave the haunted ships.
Once they have collected their candy, kids can check out the “Forest of Frights” boardwalk. This spooky setting will feature ghost stories, face-painting and fortune-telling in addition to creepy crafts, pumpkin bowling and other family-friendly games. The nighttime festivities will finish off a monster mash dance party.
For those looking to eat more than just candy all night, the Jamestown Settlement Café will be serving up family dinner specials both evenings.
Admission to Family Frights at Jamestown Settlement is $7 per kid ages 3-12 and $3 per adult. An adult must accompany all minors and little ones under three get in free.
