James City County wants residents to help with its ongoing Housing Conditions Study.
The county’s Office of Housing and Community Development, in partnership with the Virginia Tec Center for Housing Research, have been conducting a study on the conditions of homes since mid-September.
The $93,761 study – the first since 2007 – will include field assessments, an online survey and the three public meetings scheduled to begin Monday.
Seniors, young professionals and mobile home residents are especially encouraged to attend the one-hour public meetings.
The three meetings are scheduled for:
- 6:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at the James City County Recreation Center
- 3:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at the James City County Library
- 6:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Abram Frink Jr. Community Center
The study aims to learn how many residential structures are failing in order to develop a plan to repair and retain the current housing stock, Housing Administrator Vaughn Poller said to WYDaily last month.
