I64 wideningThree miles of Interstate 64, in both directions, will have single lane closures as the widening project continues.

The construction and lane closures will take place between Lee Hall (exit 247) and Fort Eustis Boulevard (exit 250) starting Sunday night.

The first phase is slated for completion in December 2017.

The entire I-64 widening, which will happen in three phases, will stretch to the second Route 199 interchange in York County (exit 234).

VDOT maintains a page on its website with updated information on the widening.
