A new full-service car wash is boasting its quick and quality auto cleaning methods to the Williamsburg area.

Autobell Car Wash, which has been in business since 1969, opened its first location in the City of Williamburg at 336 Second St. about three weeks ago.

The new car wash marks the 10th location in the Hampton Roads Area, with chains established in Hampton, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Newport News and Norfolk.

Carl Howard, the vice president and COO of Autobell Car Wash Inc., said what separates his car washes from others is the speed of the wash without losing quality.

“What we do is get the basic full-service car wash, including the interior, done in 15 minutes or less,” Howard said. “Our big this is quality and not having our customers wait very long.”

Using a time-efficient method of washing cars along a conveyor belt, which Howard called “the most efficient way he knows,” Autobell has emerged as the second-largest conveyor car wash company in America with 70 locations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Georgia.

Customers can expect to be in and out quickly, for what Howard called an affordable price. Basic exterior-only car washes start at $4 and full-service washes start at $15.99. More extensive packages can run upward of $25.

While the new location is the first in the city, Howard said the company would not be opposed to expanding into York County if the right site was identified.

Autobell Car Wash is open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
