Candidates for the James City County Board of Supervisors will gather at the county government center for a meet-and-greet Thursday night.

The event, which will be hosted by the League of Women Voters of the Williamsburg Area, will feature all Board of Supervisors candidates on the ballot in November.

The candidates will address the audience before breaking out to meet one-on-one with attendees.

Linda Rice, president of the League of Women Voters of the Williamsburg Area, said the event was originally planned as a debate but none of the Republican candidates agreed to attend.

Those candidates, incumbent Berkeley supervisor Mary Jones, Roberts candidate Heather Cordasco and Stonehouse candidate Sue Sadler, agreed to attend when the format was changed to a meet-and-greet, Rice said.

Roberts incumbent John McGlennon, Stonehouse incumbent Jim Kennedy and Berkeley challenger Ruth Larson will also attend the meet-and-greet, Rice said.

The meet-and-greet starts at 7 p.m. in the board room of Building F at the James City County Government Center, located at 101 Mounts Bay Road.
