Percy W. Brown Sr. died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 81.

His life began on Oct. 24, 1933, the son of the late Ellen P. and James W. Brown, of James City County.

He retired after many years of service from Camp Peary and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donzella Brown, and a son, David Brown.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Audrey H. Brown; daughter, Tammy Shaw (Apollos); sons, Percy Brown Jr. (Mary), Randy Brown (Gwendolen) and Quinton Brown (Gayle); 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and other loving relatives and many caring friends.

Mr. Brown may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, at Whiting’s Funeral Home. Family and friends will assemble by 12:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at the funeral home for a funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. Dr. Robert A. Whitehead will be officiating. Interment will follow at Canaday Family Cemetery.
