Field Hockey Roundup: Tabb Scores Win on Senior Night

Izzy SolaroliTabb’s field hockey team scored a big 2-1 win at home Thursday against Richmond Collegiate on Senior Night.

The Tigers carried a 1-0 lead into halftime before watching Richmond Collegiate tie the game up at 1-1 in the second half.

Tabb made senior night a good one, however, and scored the game-winning goal with 8:57 left in the game to secure the victory.

The Tigers (10-1) will travel to Warhill on Tuesday in the hopes of extending a six-game win streak.

York Cruises Past Bruton

The York field hockey team ran wild against Bruton on Thursday, earning a 6-0 victory on the road.

York was in control of the game from the outset and built up a 6-0 lead by halftime.

Officials stopped the game with 15 minutes left in the second half due to the Virginia High School League six-goal rule.

York (7-2) has won five consecutive games and will host Smithfield on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Bruton (3-5) will look to snap back-to-back losses with a win at home against Lafayette on Monday.
