Rain Causes Cancellations for Historic Triangle Sports

For the second consecutive day, poor weather conditions are affecting Historic Triangle sporting events.

Soggy field conditions and dangerous travel put an end to all outdoor sporting events today, including York’s field hockey game against Cape Henry Collegiate and all three football games.

Additionally, Lafayette’s volleyball match against Denbigh was rescheduled because of poor travel conditions for Denbigh.

This post will be updated as more information becomes available.


  • Hampton Roads Academy’s home game against Norfolk Academy was postponed to 5 p.m. Monday.
  • Jamestown’s home football game against Warhill has been postponed to Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. and will be played at Wanner Stadium.
  • Tabb’s home game against Bruton has been postponed with no makeup date announced.

Field Hockey

  • York’s road contest against Cape Henry Collegiate has been canceled. There will be no makeup for the game.


  • Lafayette’s home match against Denbigh has been rescheduled for Oct. 16.
