Hampton Roads Academy fell behind 1-0 early to Steward School and was unable to battle back during a 2-1 road loss on Friday.
After conceding an early goal in the first half, HRA proceeded to pepper Steward School’s goalkeeper Blake Hollier with shots. Hollier proved to be like a brick wall, however, recording 21 saves and allowing just one goal in the game.
HRA’s lone goal came in the second half as Jalen Johnson connected with Patrick Phillips, who found the back of the net.
An own goal from Hampton Roads Academy gave Steward School the go-ahead and eventual game-winning goal.
HRA (5-2) will look to rebound Tuesday when the Navigators travel to take on Norfolk Collegiate.
