Grafton’s field hockey team rolled past New Kent at home Thursday night thanks to a trio of goals from Grace Hoepfner that helped with a 6-0 final score.
The Clippers held a 2-0 halftime advantage, and extended their lead by a big margin in the second half until the game was called early because of the Virginia High School League’s six-goal rule.
Four players found the back of the cage for Grafton, including single goals from Corinne Tapajna, Meghan Malone and Erin Malone.
Emma Kirschke chipped in two assists, while Kaylin Richardson, Erin Malone and Liv Lilygren each added one.
Grafton (3-4) will look to build on its win during a tournament in Virginia Beach this weekend.

Tabb Routs Bruton
The Tabb field hockey team ran past Bruton at home Thursday, building an 8-0 halftime lead and carrying that lead until the final whistle.
Tabb (7-1) will look to build on a three-game win streak when they host Smithfield on Monday.
Conversely, Bruton (3-4) will look to rebound from the loss when it hosts York on Tuesday.
