A financial planning business celebrated the grand opening of its new James City County office with a ribbon cutting July 29.

Thrivent Financial, a Fortune 500 company rated as one of the most ethical financial companies in the world by Ethisphere, has offices located in Virginia Beach and Richmond, but has not had a Williamsburg-based office in years.

Financial Associate Ron Adolphi is responsible for helping Thrivent Financial – which offers a broad range of financial products and services, as well as financial guidance for life events such as education funding, retirement and legacy strategies – return to the Historic Triangle and oversaw its soft opening July 6.

A religious man, Adolphi learned of Thrivent Financial through a fellow choir member at his local church. Once Adolphi learned more about Thrivent, an originally Lutheran organization that now includes all Christians, he knew he wanted to bring the services to Williamsburg.

“This is a new opportunity to provide a greater amount of service locally to both existing Thrivent members and new members who we may be able to encourage to join with us,” Adolphi said of the new Thrivent office.

More than three weeks after the soft opening, Adolphi was joined by a contingent of members from the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance and the Peninsulas Chapter of Thrivent Financial for the grand opening.

Beyond a ribbon cutting, the grand opening of the new Thrivent office at 5248 Olde Towne Road, Suite 3, featured a blessing and a reception at the office’s picnic area.

“It was nicely attended and was a good way to start off this new practice for Thrivent Financial,” Adolphi said of the grand opening.
