While their neighbors enjoy another two weeks of summer vacation, some students in the Historic Triangle will be back in a classroom much sooner.
Students at Providence Classical School, Walsingham Academy and Williamsburg Christian Academy all kick off the 2015-16 school year this week.
PCS held its first day of classes Monday. The new school year is PCS’s 15th year of operation.
WCA began the school year with half days Monday and Tuesday. The school’s first full day of class is scheduled for Wednesday.
Walsingham’s students will go back to class in shifts. Upper school students returned to Walsingham Monday for orientation, with classes beginning Tuesday. Students in grades 3 through 7 return for a half day Wednesday, and grades 1 through 7 students have a half day Thursday.
All students will report for the school’s first full day of classes Friday.
Private schools in Virginia are not bound by the so-called Kings Dominion Law, which prohibits schools from holding classes before Labor Day.
