Dorothy “Dot” Moore Hamilton died Aug. 3 2015, at the age of 85.

Dot was born and raised in Poquoson and resided in York County for more than 50 years.

She was one of eight children, daughter of the late Jesse Lee and Lucile Tabb Moore. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years Pinkney Roth Hamilton; son, Timothy Osborne Hamilton; brothers, Jesse Jr., Robert Edward and Gerald Fay Moore; and sisters, Mary Lou Behler and Joyce Harris.

Dot is survived by her brother, Donald Moore and wife Patsy; sister, Alma Behler and husband Bob; and grandson, Timothy William Roth Hamilton and wife Rose.

Dot enjoyed learning and teaching others the truth of the Bible and the good news of God’s kingdom, which instilled in her a strong faith in Jehovah and his promise of a new earth where sickness and death will be no more. (Rev. 21:1-4) Dot also knew from her study of the Bible that by means of Jesus sacrifice, even though we die we can live again by a resurrection and be reunited with our loved ones in paradise earth. Dot was an example of faithfulness to all who knew her and will be missed until that future day.

A memorial service will be conducted by Timothy Loer at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1625 Big Bethel Road, Hampton. The family will receive friends immediately after at the Poquoson Community Center, 49 Odd Road Poquoson, VA 23662.
