Maryann Schonenberg died peacefully at her home the morning of Friday, July 17, 2015, at the age of 54.

Maryann was the third daughter of the late William M. Johnson (died in 2006) and Janice Elaine O’Neil Johnson Egan (died in 2012).

After graduating from Marymount University in 1984, she started a family as a Navy wife and dedicated her life to her sons. A genuine and caring soul, she volunteered frequently, most recently as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion at Saint Bede Catholic Church in Williamsburg.

She is survived by her sons, Will, of Washington, D.C. and Richard, of Jacksonville, Florida and sisters, Nancy, of Washington, D.C., Patricia, of Williamsburg, Janice, of Alexandria and Jeanne, of Severna Park, Maryland. She is also survived by Lee Schonenberg, U.S. Navy (Ret.).

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Saint Bede in Williamsburg.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in Maryann’s name to Saint Bede Catholic Church.
