Aspiring flutists are invited to participate in next week’s Summer Flute Camp.

Flute Frenzy, a Williamsburg-based nonprofit dedicated to providing opportunities for flutists in the Historic Triangle, is hosting the weeklong camp from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. starting Monday.

This year’s camp is called “My Turn with the Remote” and is themed around exploring different “channels” through music.

Margaret Carlson, a professional flutist, will lead the camp, which is open to musicians entering grades six through 12 with at least one academic year of flute experience under their belts.

Both alto and bass flutists are welcome to participate, in addition to piccolo players. Participants must bring their own instruments.

The camp is structured around a variety of different activities, including technique classes, musical games, special performances, large and small ensembles and a concert at its conclusion.

The camp will meet at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church on Richmond Road. Registration is $125, and needs-based scholarships are available. Registration forms and additional information can be found here.
