The Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance has brought on a new team member to help engage member businesses and orchestrate events like Business After Hours and Speed Networking.
Victoria Schumacher has 15 years of meeting and event planning experience at hotels and resorts, according to an Alliance news release announcing her hire.
“I’m so excited about this new journey,” Schumacher said in the release. “I love living and working here in Williamsburg and I’m looking forward to working closely with the embers and the team here at the Alliance, and being active in the community. I already love my new position.”
The Alliance serves as a dual chamber of commerce and network of local businesses in the tourism sector. It regularly hosts events like Business After Hours, where locals can go for a small charge to hob knob with business leaders from throughout the Williamsburg area. It also hosts speed networking sessions, lunches, a career fair and gala.
Schumacher will help plan and execute those events alongside Business Events Manager Michelle Williams. She is also tasked with working with Membership Manager Tiffany Phillips and Membership Coordinator Donna Martin to ensure member businesses take advantage of the benefits and programs the Alliance offers.
“Victoria is a perfect fit to our Alliance team and I am looking forward to working together with her to make sure our members are getting the most out of their membership,” Phillips said.
The Alliance has nearly 800 members including businesses, nonprofits and educational institutions.
