Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center’s second Artful Soiree went off without a hitch last month.
Artful Soiree is an initiative to raise money for the center through privately hosted parties, paid admission to which is open to the general public. Friends of the center volunteer to host, often incorporating unique décor, food and even costumes to set the mood for the celebration.
Steve and Jean Kennedy hosted the series’ second event in their new Party Barn located adjacent to the couple’s home. The theme for the evening was “Wine for All Palates,” and attendees were treated to an array of wines with complementary hors d’oeuvres.
While guests took in the intricate architectural detail of the barn, Steve shared the story of his own personal journey of discovery through the world of wine.
The event raised more than $2,300 for Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center, all of which will go to support the various programs and community initiatives that the center offers to the people of the Historical Triangle area.
The next soiree will be an authentic Texas Barbecue hosted by John and Ann Beard at their home in Governors Land on September 12. For more information and to make reservations, contact Janis Wood at 757-220-2217 or at email@example.com
