Williamsburg Parks and Recreation will begin accepting registrations for a pair of fall volleyball leagues starting Aug. 3.
The two leagues – youth and adult – will be holding registrations through late August, with the youth registration period ending Aug. 21 and the adult league period ending Aug. 28.
Two grade divisions have been created in the youth division to help keep a level playing field for all participants. Grades 3 to 6 will play together in one division and grades 7 to 12 will play in another.
The pricing for both leagues is the same, with the first child costing $45. A second child can be registered for $35 and each additional child in the same family can be added for $25.
Co-ed youth league play, which begins practices Sept. 14, is designed to teach the basic skills and rules of volleyball to participants, guaranteeing playing time in every match during the season.
The adult league is broken up into men’s, women’s and co-ed divisions. Interested participants must be at least 18 years old and can only register as part of an organized team.
Adult league play in the men’s and women’s divisions is more competitive than the co-ed leagues, which offer four different divisions ranging from beginner to advanced. Teams across all divisions can register for $175.
Registration can be completed online or at the Quarterpath Recreation Center, which will host league play.
