York County’s Planning Commission elected new officers last week.
Members elected Todd Mathes and Glenn Brazelton as chairman and vice chairman, respectively, at a meeting of the Planning Commission on Wednesday. The two will serve in those roles through June 2016.
Mathes, appointed to the board in October 2012, is the representative for District 4, which encompasses Grafton, Dare and Harwood’s Mill. His term in that seat ends in June 2018.
Brazelton’s current term, which began in July 2013, ends in June 2017. He represents District 2, which includes the Kiln Creek and Coventry areas of the county.
Mathes and Brazelton succeed Melissa Magowan (At-Large) and Tim McCulloch (District 3) in the roles. Both Magowan and McCulloch served as chairman and vice chairman, respectively, for one year.
Last week’s meeting also marked the first for the board’s newest commissioner, Robert “Pete” Peterman. The new at-large member was appointed last month after Mark Suiter, who served on the commission for more than four years, decided not to pursue another term.
