Clyde Thomas Moore died Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at the age of 89.

Clyde was a native and lifelong resident of Dare in York County. He was a graduate of Poquoson High School, class of 1943 and retired from the Naval Weapon Station in 1982 after 30 years of service. He was a member of Providence United Methodist Church and past president and member of the York Lions Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ida S. and Joseph T. Moore Jr.; son-in-law, C. Joe Virostek; and grandson, Bradley Thomas Virostek.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 71 years, Myrtle Moore; daughter, Sylvia M. Virostek; granddaughter, Kelli V. Smith and her husband Michael; and great-grandsons, Christian Brady Smith and Grant Thomas Smith.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. C. Douglas Akers officiating. The family will be at his daughter’s home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Providence United Methodist Church, 113 Old Dare Road, Yorktown, VA 23692.
