Edna M. Allen, of Williamsburg, died peacefully on July 3, 2015, with her daughters Christine and Lorraine present. She was 95.

She was born April 19, 1920, in England and moved with her husband of 58 years, Kenneth, more than 30 times between England, Canada and the United States before settling in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. They moved to Williamsburg in 1997 to be close to their three grandchildren Brian, Kimberly and Andrew.

Edna served in the British Army and was a civil telephone engineer in England before becoming a full-time homemaker, caring for her daughters and parents.

She enjoyed painting, reading, watching the birds and deer outside her window, spending time with family, pet schnauzers and shopping. In the past she volunteered with the local ballet society, Girl Scouts and nursing homes.

In lieu of flowers, Christine and Lorraine request that memorial donations be made to one of the following organizations that provided loving care for Mom in her final days: Hospice House of Williamsburg or Faith in Action, Williamsburg.

Please leave online condolences for the family at Nelsen Funeral Home.
