Ralph Dugger Jr., of Williamsburg, died on June 27, 2015, at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was 83.
Born and raised in Colorado, Ralph served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, after which he graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi and obtained post-graduate degrees from the University of Colorado.
In 1959 he began a distinguished career in the financial field as an insurance agent, investment adviser and financial planning consultant. He was a chartered life underwriter and chartered financial consultant. He moved to Virginia Beach in 1967 as a general agent of the New England Mutual Life Insurance Company with five offices in Southeastern Virginia. In 1980, he went into private practice and moved to Williamsburg in 1984.
Ralph will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 32 years, Susan Dugger, and by his children, Michael Dugger, Becky Dugger and husband Joe Annette, Kim Dugger Beagle, husband Wayne and sons Blake and Brock and Debbie Dugger Knowles, husband Tim and daughters Jennifer, Stephanie and Lauren. He will also be fondly remembered by his stepchildren, Brian Saunders, wife Perri Ann and sons Cameron, David and Jonathan, Jay Saunders and wife Heather and Shelby Saunders Gault, husband Michael and son Bryce.
Ralph was a gift from God to many. We now give him back to God in the comfort of believing that He will cradle Ralph’s gentle soul in eternal peace and joy.
A private family graveside service will be held on July 10, 2015, in Williamsburg.
