Investigators with the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office are asking the public for information on one or more suspects accused of breaking into and stealing items from cars overnight in Tabb.
The break-ins occurred overnight Sunday in the 100 block of Dartmouth Drive in the Darby Estates off Route 17.
A post on the YPSO Facebook page said the suspects stole money and credit cards from unlocked vehicles and used garage openers found in the unlocked cars to enter garages.
Surveillance video from a 7-Eleven located in the 16000 block of Warwick Boulevard in Newport News shows a suspect using a credit card stolen from one of the vehicles at the convenience store at around 1:20 a.m. Monday.
That suspect is described as a black, 5-foot-10 to 5-foot-11 male weighing 170 to 190 pounds who was last seen wearing a black baseball cap with a palm tree design on the front, a white T-shirt and black pants.
