Wesley R. “Skeeter” Walker, of Williamsburg, died Thursday, June 25, 2015, at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center. He was 50.

His life’s journey began on July 16, 1964, the son of Mary C. Walker and the late Wesley Walker.

In his youth, he accepted Christ into his life and became a member of Chickahominy Baptist Church. At the time of his death, he was employed by the Pavilion at Williamsburg Place. Skeeter, as he was so affectionately called, will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He leaves to treasure his precious memories his devoted wife, Christine J. Walker; his daughter, Felicia R. Jefferson; his son, Wesley D. Walker; his mother, Mary C. Walker; his sister, Crystal C. Jones (Efrem); his brothers, Bruce Meekins and Franklin Armstead; his maternal grandmother, Martha C. Armstead; his mother-in-law, Julia G. Jefferson; his favorite nephew, Franklin Seldon; his goddaughter, Nai’zari Robinson; and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends.

Mr. Walker may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2015, at Whiting’s Funeral Home. Family and friends will assemble by 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at 410 Carriage Road for a funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 11600 Wilcox Neck Road, Charles City, with the Rev. George Magazine officiating.
