Another candidate has entered the race for York County School Board.
Tabb resident Sean Myatt jumped into the race for the District 5 seat on the School Board, filing paperwork before the June 9 filing deadline elapsed.
District 5 includes the Tabb and Bethel areas of York County.
Myatt will face incumbent Dr. Robert George, who currently serves as the Board’s vice chairman.
Myatt confirmed Thursday he had filed paperwork to run for the school board, but would not make an official announcement of his candidacy pending a work-related decision.
George announced in February he would seek re-election to the seat he has held since 2007.
The school board consists of five members elected to represent five geographic districts in the county for four-year terms.
All five of the incumbent school board members have announced they will seek re-election to the board.
In addition to Myatt and the five incumbents, one other candidate has jumped into the school board election fray. Julie Reichle announced in May she would challenge Board Chairman Mark Medford for the District 3 seat, which includes the Edgehill, Seaford and Yorktown areas of York County.
All five seats will be on ballots during the Nov. 3 general election.
