Nine Historic Triangle girls soccer players were named on Monday to the 4A South All-Region teams — seven to the first team and two to the second team.

Tabb’s Leah Tyson took home the highest honors of all nine Historic Triangle athletes, topping the voting for first-team forwards and tying for most overall votes for player of the year.

Tyson led the Tigers with 22 goals and seven assists en route to also being named Conference 19 Player of the Year.

Two of Tyson’s teammates were also named first-team selections: junior midfielder Madalynn Grounds and junior defender Lakaiah Robinson.

Jamestown had four players earn first-team distinctions. Junior goalkeeper Juliette Sim was tabbed as the first-team goalkeeper, while Morgan Connell was the final first-team forward. Shannon Fitzgerald was selected as a first-team midfielder and Maddie Clevinger was given first-team honors as a defender.

Connell led the Eagles with a team-high 16 goals, while Sim allowed just six goals against Bay Rivers District opponents with 89 total saves for the year. Clevinger established herself as the focal point of the Jamestown defense this year, while Fitzgerald became one of the leaders of the Eagles defense and became a solid two-way player.

Jamestown and Tabb each had midfielders named to the 4A South second-team. Peyton Helbert was named a second-teamer for Jamestown, while Izzy Solaroli was Tabb’s lone second-team selection.
