Vincent “Vince” Cingale, of Williamsburg, died May 30, 2015, at the age of 81.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Cirginano and his parents, Raymond and Ernestine Cingale.

Vince was drafted in 1950, serving our country in the U.S. Army. He was assigned to Japan during the Korean conflict until 1955 and was ranked as a sergeant. He later was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years as a supervisor. Vince was an active member of the National Association of Federal Employees and the Colonial Italian American Organization (CIAO).

He is survived by his brother, Raymond and his wife, Angela; brothers-in-law, John Cirignano and his wife, Jane, Larry Cirignano and Sal Lipari; uncle, Joseph Cingale; as well as many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.

Per his wishes, Vince will return home, where he will reunite with his wife, in Lodi, New Jersey. A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2015, at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddler River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ, 07410. A service will be held on at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015, at the funeral home with interment to follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery, 2 Terrace Ave., Lodi, NJ 07644.

The family would like to give a special thank-you to the staff at Spring Arbor Cottage of Williamsburg and Hospice Community Care for the care and support to Vince during his stay.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the local Salvation Army.
