bat and ballThree regional sporting events have been postponed due to rain and lightning in the area Tuesday.

The only game unaffected is the 3A East quarterfinal game between Lafayette and Huguenot, which was tied at 0-0 before the game was called due to weather on Monday.

Lafayette and Huguenot will resume play at 5:30 p.m. at Huguenot High.

Two boys soccer games and a softball game will be played Wednesday, weather permitting.

Below are the affected contests:


  • Warhill’s home game against Petersburg in the 3A East quarterfinal has been postponed until 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Boys Soccer

  • Thomas Jefferson has forfeited against York in the 3A East quarterfinal, meaning York wins the game 3-0 and will advance to take on Kettle Run in the 3A East semifinal Wednesday.
  • Bruton’s home game against Goochland has been postponed tentatively to 6 p.m. Wednesday. Bruton trails Goochland 1-0 in the 2A East quarterfinal.
