Warhill took advantage of costly York fielding errors during Thursday’s Conference 25 championship.

York’s five errors resulted in five Warhill runs, which proved enough for the Lions to earn the 7-1 victory at home.

Kasey Tomes started the scoring for Warhill, scoring on an error in the bottom of the third inning to put the Lions up 1-0.

Warhill earned two runs in the bottom of the third inning, coming off a Keely Rochard double and a Lindsey Davis single.

The Falcons defense struggled in the bottom of the sixth inning, during which they committed three errors that led to all four Warhill runs that inning.

York added one run in the top of the seventh off a Miranda Yokum RBI single to right field, though that was all the offense the Falcons could muster.

Despite the loss, York (14-7) will get a chance to redeem itself during the 3A East tournament.

Meanwhile, Warhill (20-3) has now won 12 consecutive games and have a Conference 25 championship to show for it. The Lions will also continue their postseason in the 3A East tournament.
