Thursday’s Conference 19 baseball championship between Powhatan and Grafton did not hold the suspense one might expect from a conference championship game.
Instead, Grafton defeated Powhatan 11-0 in five innings at home to earn the title.
Grafton put up five runs in the bottom of the first inning, forcing Powhatan to pull starting pitcher Ryan Brinkley after one inning.
After an offensive lull in the second and third innings, the Clippers added another six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to bring their advantage to 11-0.
