The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation’s John D. Rockefeller Jr. Library will be closed beginning Monday to allow its staff to conduct an inventory of its possessions.
The library is located at the foundation’s Bruton Heights Educational Center and focuses on materials detailing the colonial period, the American Revolution and the early history of the U.S.
It is named after Rockefeller, who founded Colonial Williamsburg. The library’s research staff thanks guests for their patience during what they are calling a “critical project,” according to an advisory from the foundation.
The library is closed on weekends, so while the work will finish June 12, it will not reopen until June 15. The library’s typical weekday hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
