Shaye Doherty scored two goals and added an assist during Warhill’s 4-1 home victory over Lafayette on Monday.

Doherty scored the game’s opening goal to put Warhill up 1-0, but Lafayette’s Carson Pokorny tied the game up at 1-1 shortly before halftime.

Kirstyn Aldridge put Warhill on top early in the second half before Doherty and Tammy Stauffer added goals in the final 10 minutes of play to help the Lions pull away for good.

The Lions (9-5) and Rams (9-3) will now each await their opponents in the Conference 25 tournament.

New Kent Shuts Out Bruton

Bruton goalkeeper Pyper Johnston had her work cut out for her, being forced to record 10 saves during Monday’s home game against New Kent.

The Trojans proved to be too much to handle, as the Panthers dropped a 3-0 decision.

New Kent’s Sydney Griffith scored one goal in each half to help pace the Trojans, while Caitlin McCaughan added a goal in the second half to help secure the win.

Bruton (1-12) has now lost 12 consecutive games after winning its season opener against Heritage. The Panthers will now wait to see if they will have the opportunity to play in a play-in game May 25 in the Conference 33 tournament.
