The Jamestown boys tennis team completed its dominance of Conference 19 play, winning the conference championship over Grafton 5-0 on Monday.

The Eagles (14-0) controlled play from top to bottom, dropping two games throughout the entire match.

Both teams will continue their seasons in the 4A South tournament, which is scheduled to begin Monday.

Bruton Bounced in Conference 33 Singles Tournament

Bruton’s Ian Sadler and Dylan Shannon each won a match during Monday’s Conference 33 Boys Singles Tournament in Richmond.

Sadler, Bruton’s No. 1 singles player, defeated Dwayne Seals of Surry County 6-1, 6-1 in the quarterfinals of the tournament. In the second round, Karl Katlaps of Maggie Walker defeated Sadler 6-0, 6-0.

Shannon won a play-in match against Surry County’s Vydel Travis 6-1, 6-2 before losing to Windsor’s Daniel Klausmeier 6-0, 6-0 in the quarterfinals.

Bruton’s boys team will play in the doubles tournament in Richmond on Wednesday.
