Grafton’s Kayley Cox tossed a perfect game during Grafton’s 9-0 rout of Poquoson on Friday.

Cox allowed no hits, walked no batters, gave up no runs and struck out six batters during the win.

As Cox dominated in the circle, the Clippers powered past Poquoson pitcher Megan Hibbs at the plate.

Jessica Sprouse drove in three runs for Grafton, including two coming off a triple in the top of the second inning. Lauren Washburn joined Sprouse, driving in three runs as well.

Christa Hall chipped in a pair of RBIs during the winning effort.

Grafton (14-5) will finish its regular season on the road against Tabb at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Warhill Blows Out Lafayette

A 13-run fourth inning helped Warhill make quick work of Lafayette during a 17-2 five-inning blowout on Friday.

The Lions took advantage of 10 Lafayette errors, facilitating offense off easy hits.

Three Warhill players – Kieran McClure, Hayley Schulz and Olivia Schulz – drove in multiple runs in the win.

Warhill starting pitcher Colby Norris allowed two hits and one earned run over five innings.

The Lions have scored 10 or more runs in five of their last six games and now hold an eight-game win streak.

Warhill (16-3) will host New Kent during its final home game of the regular season on Tuesday.

Lafayette, winless on the season, will have one more chance to earn a win in the regular season when the Rams host York on Tuesday.

Smithfield Cruises Past York

York’s offense struggled to figure out Smithfield ace Sydney Gay during a 9-2 home loss Friday.

Smithfield jumped on the Falcons early, bringing six runners across home during the top of the first inning.

Hayley Winfree of York finally cracked Gay in the bottom of the sixth inning, smacking an RBI single to center field.

The loss snaps York’s two-game win streak. The Falcons (11-6) will conclude their regular season on the road against Lafayette on Tuesday.

Tabb Eases Past Jamestown

Tabb pitcher Alexis Gore threw a no-hitter through four innings before giving up a hit in the fifth inning during a 5-1 road win against Jamestown on Friday.

The Tigers jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead through two innings and tacked on one additional run in the top of the sixth inning.

Jamestown’s Emily Saintmire broke up Gore’s no-hit bid in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Tabb (10-9) will finish its regular season at home against Grafton on Tuesday, while Jamestown (3-16) will close its regular season at home against Poquoson on Tuesday.
