A 56-year-old Grafton man has been arrested in connection to a February hit-and-run in that resulted in the death of a 23-year-old York County woman.
Investigators from the Virginia State Police identified Kevin Anthony Boone as a suspect after receiving tips from the public.
They believe Boone was intoxicated when his vehicle struck Alyssa Lynne Rhoades and a man near Grafton Drive at about 9:30 p.m. Feb. 1. He is alleged to have continued down Route 17 without stopping.
Rhoades died from her injuries on Feb. 6. The man who was also struck suffered major injuries, police said at the time of the incident.
Boone was arrested May 6 and charged with DUI manslaughter, DUI maiming, felony DUI, hit-and-run, revocation of license for multiple DUI convictions and involuntary manslaughter.
He was also charged with felony murder, which is a charge levied against someone who is accused of killing another person while committing a felony.
He is being held without bond at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail. He will appear in York-Poquoson General District Court at 2 p.m. July 21.
