Elizabeth “Betty” Haberstroh, of Williamsburg, died at home on May 10, 2015, at the age of 89.
Born on Nov. 29, 1925, in Pennsylvania, she lived in Hazlet, New Jersey for 30 years. Betty was formerly vice chairwoman of the Monmouth County Republican Party until her retirement in 1987. She was also chairwoman of the Monmouth County Board of Elections.
Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne LeVan.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Edward J. Haberstroh; brother, Jerry LeVan; daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Jay DeYoung; daughter, Kathryn Haberstroh Klein; sons and daughters-in-law, Edward W. and Kathy Haberstroh, Richard and Claudia Haberstroh and Stephen and Pam Haberstroh; grandchildren, Jon and Katie DeYoung, Meredith and Kevin Klein, Janise Stout, Christina Moylan and Craig, Steven, Kaylie and Tim Haberstroh; and great-grandchild, Braeden Stout.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Day Funeral Home in Keyport, New Jersey.
