York HighAfter trailing by three goals to Smithfield, York’s girls soccer team battled back to earn a 3-3 draw.

Smithfield jumped on York, getting up 3-0 before Anya Johnson got the Falcons on the board toward the end of the first half off a Madison Van Dyke assist.

In the second half, Van Dyke scored two unassisted goals — the first coming off a penalty kick and the second off a direct kick — to help the Falcons earn a 3-3 draw.

York (6-3-4) has now tied four times this season. The Falcons will conclude their regular season at home against Lafayette on Thursday.

Jamestown and Tabb Play to Draw

Jamestown and Tabb played to a 2-2 draw at Jamestown High on Tuesday.

Morgan Connell scored a first-half goal for Jamestown and added an assist on a second-half goal by Maddie Clevinger.

For Tabb, Leah Tyson scored in the first half and Schuyler Jurewicz scored in the second half.

Neither Jamestown nor Tabb were able to break through in the overtime period.

Jamestown (6-3-4) will finish its regular season with a home game against Poquoson on Friday. Tabb (8-2-1) will finish its regular season on the road against Grafton on Friday.
