Sophia Beaudoin scored two goals, including the game-winning free kick in overtime, to help the Clippers take down Poquoson 3-2 on Monday evening.
Jackie Armstrong scored a first-half goal for Grafton (8-4), but the Clippers and the Islanders entered halftime tied at 1-1.
Beaudoin scored Grafton’s second-half goal, which helped send the game into an extra period. In overtime, Beaudoin found the back of the net off a free kick, giving Grafton the hard-fought victory.
Having to play in overtime was a new experience for Grafton, who had not played into an extra period this season. The Clippers will close their regular season at home against Tabb on Friday.
