For the second consecutive game, Bruton (7-7) defeated an opponent — this time New Kent — by a score line of 5-0 on Monday.

The Panthers started the first half slowly, with their lone goal coming from Lanson Fontaine, who slotted a through ball from Michael Wilson past the New Kent keeper to go up 1-0.

After holding a 1-0 advantage at halftime, Bruton picked up the pace offensively and pulled away from the Trojans.

Wilson and his teammate Miguel Martinez each scored a pair of second-half goals to push the Panthers to a decisive road victory.

Bruton will cap its regular season with a home contest against Smithfield at 7 p.m. Thursday.
