grafton logoGrafton’s girls tennis team narrowly defeated Poquoson at home by a final score of 5-4 on Thursday.

Poquoson took a pair of singles matches that finished in an 11-9 third-set tiebreaker that kept the contest close.

The Clippers finished the regular season with a record of 7-4 and will await their seeding in the Conference 19 tournament, which will begin May 14.

Bruton Edges New Kent

Bruton managed to squeak by a scrappy New Kent team 5-4 at home Thursday.

The Panthers took four of six singles matches and secured the match win by cruising in the No. 2 doubles match.

The win moves Bruton to 4-8 on the season, which is up from last season’s 2-7 record.

Bruton will now await its seeding in the Conference 33 tournament.
