Jamestown’s boys soccer team continued its winning ways as the Eagles took down Floyd E. Kellam 3-2, bringing the Jamestown win streak to seven games.
Kevin Tripp started the scoring for Jamestown in the 30th minute of play off an assist from Antonio Gonzalez. Floyd E. Kellam responded quickly, tying up the game eight minutes later.
The teams were tied at 1-1 heading into halftime.
Jamestown’s Brandon Jordan started the second half on a positive note, finding the back of the net off a Jeff Wolons assist just five minutes into the second half.
Wolons helped build on the Jamestown lead by scoring off an Antonio Gonzalez goal in the 63rd minute, putting the Eagles on top 3-1.
The game was not out of reach, however. Two minutes later, a Floyd E. Kellam player was taken down in the box, earning a penalty kick. The penalty attempt found the back of the net, cutting Jamestown’s lead to 3-2.
Jamestown managed to keep Floyd E. Kellam at bay, holding on for the victory. The Eagles will now turn their attention to a Friday road game against Warhill.
