Capt. Robert Curtis Leslie, of Williamsburg and formerly of Fairfax and Orange Park, Florida, died suddenly on April 30, 2015, at the age of 78.

Born April 2, 1937, he was a decorated military officer, having served in the U.S. Navy for over 30 years.

He is survived by Jan, his wife of 36 years; his daughters, Christine (Mike) Weeks, Catherine (Richard) Robbins and Cynthia (Randy) Whitson; and his grandchildren, Tyler Robbins, Matthew Robbins, Drew Weeks, Wesley Weeks, Bayley Whitson and Brody Whitson.

His most notable commendations included: National War College, Commanding Officer Patrol Squadron 56, Defense Meritorious Service Medal with Star, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal with Combat “V” and Star, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, Navy Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm and Vietnam Campaign.

Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made in his name to Riverside Regional Hospice.
