Rain Postpones Some Prep Sports Contests

bat and ballRain in the Historic Triangle has caused schedule changes for most of Thursday’s prep sporting events.

Of the 11 varsity Bay Rivers District contests scheduled to be played, six have been postponed.

Currently, two girls soccer games – Heritage at York and Warhill at Colonial Heights – are still scheduled to be played today at 5:30 and 6 p.m., respectively.

Tabb’s home boys soccer game against Gloucester has been moved to 5:30 p.m. from 7 p.m. in an attempt to get the game in before the rain affects field conditions.

The Tabb baseball and softball teams will play as scheduled on the road against New Kent.

Baseball

  • Grafton’s home game against Smithfield has been postponed to Monday

Softball

  • Grafton’s home game against Smithfield has been postponed to Monday

Boys Soccer

  • Bruton’s road game against Arcadia has been postponed with no makeup date announced.
  • York’s road game against Southampton has been postponed to May 7.
  • Tabb’s home game against Gloucester has been moved up to 5:30 p.m. from 7 p.m.

Girls Soccer

  • Grafton’s road game against Nansemond River has been postponed to Friday
  • Bruton’s road game against Nandua has been postponed with no makeup date announced.
