Warhill made quick work of Denbigh, earning a 14-0 five-inning win at home Wednesday.

Olivia Schulz paced a high-powered Lions offense, driving in five runs and belting a three-run homer in the third inning.

Kieran McClure and Jasmine Ortiz each drove in two runs to help spur the Warhill offense.

In the circle, Warhill pitcher Colby Norris allowed two hits during the five-inning rout.

Warhill (11-3) has now won three games in a row with an opportunity to extend that streak to four as the Lions host Poquoson at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Evans Strikes Out 11 in York Victory

York pitcher Chelsea Evans struck out 11 batters during York’s 4-2 road win against Bruton on Wednesday.

To go with her 11 strikeouts on the mound, Evans also went 2 for 4 at the plate. Her teammate Devon Smith also went 2 for 4 at the plate.

For Bruton, Caity Washam drove in a run while DaSha Hill went 1 for 2 with a stolen base.

The Falcons (8-4) will look to build on a two-game win streak as they host Grafton on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bruton (3-10) will travel to take on Jamestown at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
