York pitcher Eric Harp threw a complete game one-hitter, striking out 11 batters in the process, as York cruised past Bruton 6-2 on the road Wednesday.

The Falcons (7-6) produced all of their runs in the first three innings, with four runs scored in the top of the second.

With the bases loaded and one out, a wild pitch allowed Rayvon Patrick to score from third. During the next at-bat, Hunter Collins smacked a two-run double to center field to put York up 4-0.

After a Gabe Simmons walk and a David Brewster single, Justin Parrish stepped to the plate and doubled to center field to plate another run.

Both of Bruton’s runs were unearned, the first coming after Zack Calloway scored when a third-pitch strike got away from the York catcher in the bottom of the second inning.

Bruton’s (2-11) second run came in the bottom of the sixth when Tredell Blow scored from third base after a fielding error on a ground ball.

York will next face Grafton at home Wednesday. Meanwhile, Bruton will try to snap an eight-game losing skid as they visit Jamestown on Tuesday.

Two-Out Rally Lifts Warhill to Victory

Trailing 5-3 with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth, Warhill drew three consecutive walks to take the lead against visiting Gloucester.

The lead would hold up as Warhill escaped with a 6-5 victory at home Wednesday.

Three first-inning errors gave Gloucester a three-run advantage in the early going.

Warhill responded in the bottom of the fifth inning with a Pat Daly sacrifice fly that brought in one run. Daly’s RBI was followed up by a Luke Bruce RBI double that tied the game up at 3-3.

In the bottom of the sixth, Bruce came up big again, drawing the third consecutive walk with two outs that allowed Lucas Rice to score the game-winning run.

The Lions will look to continue building on a five-game win streak as they host Poquoson at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
