York Hands Jamestown First Loss in Over a Month

York’s Madison Van Dyke scored the only goal during Monday’s 1-0 road win against Jamestown.

Van Dyke’s goal came off an Anya Johnson assist with 37 minutes left in the game.

During a two-on-one breakaway, Johnson’s pass found the feet of Van Dyke, who slotted the ball past the keeper for what proved to be the game-winning goal.

The win pushes the Falcons to 5-2-3 on the season with an upcoming game at home against Heritage on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the loss marks Jamestown’s first since March 24. The Eagles drop to 4-3-2 on the year with a Friday matchup lined up at home against Norfolk Christian.
