Girls Soccer Roundup: Roberts Comes Up Big in Net as Rams Topple Poquoson

Lafayette goalkeeper Megan Roberts came up with 11 saves while allowing one goal during the Rams’ 2-1 road win against Poquoson.

Carson Pokorny started the scoring for Lafayette (5-2) with a goal off a Peyton Kilgore assist.

Hannah Potter added to the Lafayette lead by finding the back of the net off a Jasmine Bunker assist.

The win snaps a two-game losing streak for Lafayette. The Rams will look to continue their winning ways as they host Smithfield at 7 p.m. Monday.

Tabb Cruises Past New Kent

Tabb’s (4-2) girls soccer team had no problem getting past New Kent 4-1 on the road Thursday.

The Tigers, playing their second game in as many days, scored two goals in each half.

Jasmine Bryant and Madalynn Grounds recorded the first-half goals, while Natalie Stratton and Schuyler Jurewicz scored the second-half goals.

Tabb will face another quick turnaround as the Tigers host Warhill at 7 p.m. Friday.
