Bruton’s Leanne Troutman spent more than four hours on the tennis court Thursday, following a long singles victory with a long doubles loss.
Unfortunately for Troutman, Bruton was unable to hang with Mathews top-to-bottom, losing 7-2 as a team.
Troutman’s singles match, in the No. 4 spot, lasted well over two hours, eventually winning the tiebreaker third set 10-8.
The Panthers drop to 2-4 on the season with the loss and will host York at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
