Jamestown’s Sean Hughes struck out 11 batters over 4 2/3 shutout innings at home during the Eagles’ 10-0 win against Warhill on Thursday.

While Hughes pitched well on the mound, the Jamestown offense jumped on Warhill (3-3) starting pitcher Aharon Davidson early and often.

Evan Lowery drove in three runs on two hits, one of which was a home run. Kevin Mooney got in on the scoring action, driving in two runs of his own.

Three Jamestown (5-2) runs in the bottom of the sixth put the game to an end per Virginia High School League rules that end a game if one teams leads by 10 or more runs after the fifth inning as long as both teams have batted in the inning.

Jamestown will look to continue its winning ways on the road against Tabb on Friday. Meanwhile, Warhill will try to stop a two-game losing skid at home against Lafayette.
